Started as a nano project implementing the functionality of WisprFlow in <300 lines of Python. Hold-to-speak, local Whisper model transcribes, 4B LLM cleans it up and insert to cursor position, run anywhere, all in a fraction of a second.
Eventually optimised for macOS via using MLX implementation and streaming.

Transport for London as a tech status page, à la Atlassian.
Fed up with TfL delays and cancellations and in the absence of a historical record for it I built it myself. Data is fetched every 2 minutes from TfL's official API and accumulated gradually.

Tired of freemium apps that lock in humanity's knowledge I built this etymology explorer based off EtymDB 2.1, an open etymological database derived from Wiktionary. Etymology should be free and for all, like a digital UNESCO heritage site of sorts. Hosted for free in a HuggingFace space (unconventional).

My first vibe coded app <3 Built with Svelte 4. A relative was anxious about their personal emissions and prefers travelling for days by train rather than taking planes out of emission-guilt. Built this app to calculate flight emissions across trips and put it in perspective (compared to trains, beef, cars and households). Only about 11% of the global population takes at least one flight per year, with commercial aviation accounting for 2.5% of global CO2 emissions. Blame the corporations and oil companies.

yt-dlpand GPT-3.5. If a transcript is missing from YouTube use Whisper to transcribe the video's audio.Because of GPT-3.5's cute context window of 4,000 tokens, long transcripts are processed in batches. Very different times!

I have a high appetite for trying new tools and quickly become a power user of those I try. Being quite picky, I often find edge cases and creases on the surface. With open source, I can connect with the people building such projects, learn from them and hone my skills, as well as being part of interesting online communities. I am an active member of the Happier, Kenn.io (authors of roborev, msgvault and agents view, among others; Discord) and Harbor Discords. I also really believe in open source for tech & science, it's the way to go.
